Heatherette and Warner Bros. on the Same Page

What is one thing that Warner Bros. and Heatherette have in common?

Inspiration from the Wizard of Oz. After copyrighting "The Wizard of Oz" in 1998, Warner Bros. had all rights reserved for the movie, including characters, costumes, music, etc. Since then, there have been many Wizard of Oz inspired works, one of the best known being a broadway musical The Wicked.

The desigers of Heatherette have always expressed an unknown outrageous spirit in their designs. "Watching their show is like dropping down a psychedelic rabbit hole." (style.com) This Fall 2007 Fashion Show was no different then their others, except for the inspiration from the Wizard of Oz. With models such as Amanda Lepore (Good Witch Glenda), Lydia Hearst (Dorothy), and Kimora Lee Simmons, there is no wonder that Heatherette was one of the most publicized fashion shows.

With so much publicity, it is also no suprise that Warner Bros. approached Heatherette with a license to produce a trendy t-shirts with the Wizard of Oz characters and quotes. I believe this was an interesting and good idea because both companies have a background with Wizard of Oz. By putting their ideas together, they can produce an attractive t-shirt line that not only kids can like, but also adults.
